GARDEN HOUSE AND COURTYARD
The vision is to create a multifunctional common house and courtyard.
The challenge has been to collect as much sun as possible under the sparse conditions of the site.

By studying the shadows during the year we shape the common house according to the most effective sun spot. The triangular shape opens up the courtyard and serves as a kitchen, storage and renovation and collects the sun on it's rooftop terrace. By preserving parts of an existing garage the pavilion stands as a crystalline extension of the historical structure.

The courtyard is kept wild as a variety of long grasses with low maintenance. Play areas are defined by lowered fields of sand an black rubber. Building starts mid 2010.
